About the position

As a Senior Applications Engineer at Airgas, you will play a pivotal role in the growth of our bulk, industrial, and specialty gas business. This position is home-based on the West Coast, with potential locations including San Francisco, Sacramento, Portland, Seattle, and Salt Lake City. You will be a key member of Airgas's Engineering Solutions Group, contributing to the design and installation of equipment that supports our diverse portfolio of gas applications across various industries. Your work will directly impact our commitment to providing world-class service, exceeding customer expectations, and building brand loyalty. In this role, you will leverage your engineering expertise to develop solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients. You will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation of projects, while also maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance with industry standards. Your ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, will be essential as you interact with customers, stakeholders, and team members. Responsibilities

  • Design and install equipment to support Airgas's gas applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical support and solutions to customers in various industries.
  • Maintain compliance with safety and industry standards during project execution.
  • Contribute to the growth of Airgas's bulk, industrial, and specialty gas business.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of process or sales engineering experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Capable of traveling up to approximately 70% (including overnight as required).

Nice-to-haves

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering (BSChe) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.
  • 2-4 years of industrial food processing experience (Cryogenic, Spiral freezers, Temperature Control, Nitrogen injection, etc.).
  • Proficiency in working with AutoCAD and ChemCAD simulation software.
  • Previous experience working with bulk specialists team members.
