About the position

Angel Oak Animal Hospital is seeking a motivated and skilled Veterinary Technician to join their growing small animal practice. The role involves direct client and patient care, requiring strong communication and technical skills. The position is available for both part-time and full-time candidates, with a focus on providing high-quality veterinary services in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in the examination and treatment of animals.
• Perform technical procedures such as IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, and anesthetic induction and monitoring.
• Conduct dental radiographs and maintain radiographic positioning.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding animal care and treatment plans.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Requirements

• Veterinary Technician Certification or equivalent experience.
• Veterinary experience of 3 or more years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal restraint techniques.
• Ability to lift more than 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Registered Veterinary Technician certification preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced veterinary environment.
