The Veterinary Assistant at Banfield Pet Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure high-quality care for pets. Responsibilities
- Support veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality veterinary care.
- Communicate effectively with the veterinary team to maintain patient flow.
- Provide exceptional service to clients and ensure comfort for pets in the hospital.
- Educate clients on wellness plans, preventive care, and hospital services.
- Maintain accurate medical records and obtain relevant client information.
- Ensure safety by following protocols and maintaining clean treatment areas.
- Assist with surgical procedures as applicable.
- Utilize technical skills within state practice acts and NAVTA guidelines.
- Mentor other paraprofessionals in the hospital.
Requirements
- Certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved Veterinary Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One year of related experience required, with customer service experience preferred.
- Ability to perform required skills of NAVTA approved veterinary assistant programs.
- Must be at least 18 years old for duties involving radiography.
