About the position

The Veterinary Clinic Room Assistant at South Suburban Humane Society plays a crucial role in enhancing client and patient experiences by educating clients about veterinary care and assisting veterinarians with patient treatment. This position ensures efficient client flow and accurate outpatient care within the clinic.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and escort them and their pets into an exam room
• Follow established procedures to assist veterinarians with examinations
• Back up the CSR team, answer phone calls, and create procedure/treatment estimates
• Prepare and fill any medications or vaccines needed for patient treatment
• Review treatment plans with clients
• Ensure all procedures rendered during the visit are documented for proper billing
• Clean and stock exam rooms
• Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all interactions with clients
• Educate clients on how to properly administer medications at home or perform other home care procedures
• Promote the practice's products, programs, and services to clients.

Requirements

• Animal restraint experience
• Proficiency in veterinary terminology
• Excellent communication skills
• High attention to detail
• Computer knowledge and/or Idexx NEO Software experience
• Comfortable with dogs and cats of all sizes
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel for long periods and lift 25 lbs
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
