About the position

The Instrument Sterilization Technician at ACCESS Specialty Animal Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting surgical services by ensuring that all surgical instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position involves working closely with experienced surgeons in a fast-paced environment, contributing to optimal patient care and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sterilize surgical instruments following proper handling and protocols.
• Properly pack instruments using the correct indicators and containers or pouches.
• Maintain and care for surgical instruments and manage inventory.
• Operate and maintain an Autoclave.
• Obtain EO2 Gas Sterilizer Certificate and manage gas sterilization loads.
• Perform surgical scrub laundry and general cleaning in surgery areas.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience in sterile processing (required).
• Knowledge of general surgical instrumentation (required).
• Knowledge of sterilization procedures (required).
• Ability to multi-task and think on your feet.
• Comfortable using business-related computer software (primarily Word and Excel).
• Schedule flexibility.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
