About the position

Innovetive Petcare is seeking a full-time Inventory Control Manager to join our team in Austin, Texas. This hybrid position involves occasional travel and is integral to our operations as we expand our culture-focused veterinary practices across 16 states. The Inventory Control Manager will play a crucial role in developing and training staff on inventory management and procurement programs that meet both operational and accounting requirements. This position requires close collaboration with our CEO, COO, suppliers, finance, and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate accounting. They will establish guidelines for inventory procurement and stock value levels, develop training programs for staff, and oversee internal audits to verify inventory accuracy. Additionally, the Inventory Control Manager will support veterinary practices in identifying and resolving inventory discrepancies and will provide guidance on managing inventory SKUs in Practice Management Systems. This role also involves reviewing inventory pricing to ensure accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly concerning controlled substances and veterinary pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement inventory management policies and procedures to ensure assets are appropriately accounted for and safeguarded.
  • Establish guidelines for procurement of inventory and appropriate stock value levels.
  • Develop a training program and train staff in inventory management procedures.
  • Implement and oversee internal audit function to ensure policies and procedures are being adhered to and verify inventory accuracy.
  • Oversee quarterly inventory counts, ensuring timely and accurate clinic inventory reports.
  • Support practices with identifying and resolving count and cost discrepancies.
  • Provide guidance for design, set-up, and management of inventory SKUs in Practice Management Systems, including unit measures, per-unit costs, and descriptors.
  • Develop a product & service cost listing for veterinary practices.
  • Ensure that practices adjust their selling prices based on vendor price changes.
  • Review inventory pricing to ensure SKU costs are accurate and markups are appropriate.
  • Ensure that all inventory practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including those related to controlled substances and veterinary pharmaceuticals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in inventory management or veterinary pharmaceuticals are a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience with inventory management in the veterinary industry.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and regulatory requirements in the veterinary field.
  • Multi-location experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and data analytics skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with inventory management and practice management systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
