About the position

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our team in Fort Worth, TX. This full-time position serves as the first point of contact for clients and their pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing various administrative tasks. The role requires knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal care to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up to date.
• Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
• Process payments and manage medical collections as needed.
• Assist veterinarians with basic administrative tasks during appointments.
• Educate clients on proper animal care, including grooming and handling techniques.
• Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Handle animal restraint when necessary, ensuring the safety of both pets and staff.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy is preferred.
• Experience in animal husbandry or care is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately, demonstrating strong animal handling skills.
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is an advantage but not mandatory.

Nice-to-haves

• Skills in pet grooming or equine care are beneficial but not required.
