About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations of our veterinary clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care, as well as excellent communication skills to ensure a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments, manage the calendar, and confirm upcoming visits.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and manage medical collections efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
  • Assist veterinarians with basic tasks such as animal handling, preparing examination rooms, and managing laboratory samples.
  • Provide information on pet grooming services and educate clients on animal anatomy knowledge as needed.
  • Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication with staff and clients.
  • Skills in pet grooming, dog handling, animal catheterization, and general pet care are highly desirable.
  • Experience in laboratory work or equine handling will be considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are crucial for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
