About the position

The Veterinary Receptionist at Broadway Veterinary Hospital serves as the first point of contact for clients and patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience. This role involves managing reception tasks, providing customer service, and supporting the veterinary team in delivering quality medical care. The position is integral to maintaining the hospital's reputation for exceptional service and care in a vibrant community setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and patients in a positive and welcoming manner.
  • Administer basic reception tasks, including answering phone calls and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage patient intake and discharge processes.
  • Perform basic cashier duties, including daily cash drawer reconciliation.
  • Educate clients about Wellness Plans and patient care as directed by the veterinary team.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate medical charts for all patients.
  • Maximize the efficiency of the veterinary team by managing patient flow effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and inviting reception area.
  • Provide professional and exceptional customer service.
  • Resolve customer complaints as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a front desk role.
  • 1+ years of experience working with computers, including typing and email.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle dogs, cats, and exotic animals.
  • Typing speed of 40+ wpm.
  • Excellent communication skills and phone demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

  • Veterinary experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel).
