Myrtle Grove Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. This role is crucial as the receptionist serves as the first and last point of contact for clients, creating lasting impressions. The receptionist will support various staff members in daily patient and client care while ensuring a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Greet clients and pets by name with a smile and a positive attitude.
- Answer phones promptly and professionally using a multi-line phone system.
- Screen and route calls to appropriate staff and take messages promptly.
- Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines.
- Note details in medical records during client conversations.
- Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients.
- Collect payments for services rendered and process transactions accurately.
- Verify eligibility of clients with charge accounts.
- Check and update client contact information in medical records.
- Fill prescription refill forms and provide administration instructions to clients.
- Advise clients on preventative care and retail items.
Requirements
- Demonstrated commitment to MVP core values.
- Computer knowledge required, including keyboarding and communication tools.
- Working knowledge of veterinary terminology, including pronunciation and spelling.
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult conditions.
- Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a calm and professional manner during stressful situations.
