About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring efficient use of the veterinarian's time.
• Manage phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information is up-to-date.
• Process payments and handle billing inquiries with professionalism.
• Assist in managing inventory of supplies and medications as needed.
• Provide basic information on animal care, health concerns, and preventive measures to clients.
• Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient needs.

Requirements

• Basic animal husbandry to assist clients effectively.
• Knowledge of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology to communicate accurately with staff and clients.
• Experience in animal handling and care, ensuring comfort for pets during their visit.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques is a plus.
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is highly desirable but not mandatory; we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a passion for pet care.
