About the position

The Veterinary Receptionist at Day Road Animal Hospital plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and support in a busy veterinary practice. This position involves managing client interactions, maintaining patient records, and assisting with appointment scheduling, all while ensuring a welcoming environment for clients and their pets. The role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, flexible, and possess strong communication skills, contributing to a low-turnover practice with a dedicated client base.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain patient and client records
• Answer incoming multi-line phone system and direct to the appropriate staff member
• Set-up, confirm and assist clients with making and attending appointments
• Welcome clientele and patients during appointments in a friendly and timely manner
• Assist clientele during discharge, including escorting clientele to vehicle and assisting with bulky items
• Prepare and reconcile end-of-period reports and bank deposits
• Prepare and distribute patient reminders, client statements, and other client communications
• Help educate clientele concerning proper preventive healthcare including regular examination, vaccination, and parasite control
• Help keep entryway, client lobby, reception and exam rooms clean and organized

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of veterinary experience (preferred)
• 1 year of front desk experience (preferred)
