About the position

The Veterinary Student Externship at UrgentVet is designed to provide a hands-on learning experience for 3rd and 4th year students enrolled in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. This externship typically lasts for 2-week blocks and aims to enhance the students' practical skills in a real-world veterinary setting under the supervision of experienced veterinary staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and outpatient medical care under the direct supervision of veterinary staff.
• Conduct in-house diagnostic tests including hematology, chemistry, and radiology.
• Provide routine client education.
• Assist in surgical procedures.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program.
