Responsibilities

• Perform canine and feline restraint during examinations and procedures.
• Collect weights and vital signs of pets, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
• Collect, process, and interpret lab samples such as fecal, skin, and ear samples.
• Communicate with clients regarding patient care, treatment plans, and veterinarian instructions.
• Fill medications and draw up vaccinations and injections.
• Take radiographs as required for patient diagnosis.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records through competent data entry.
• Perform hospital cleaning duties, including kennel cleaning, instrument washing, and laundry.
• Provide pet care duties such as feeding, walking, and medicating pets.
• Assist in surgical monitoring and procedures, including venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement.

Requirements

• Two years of veterinary experience working in a veterinary hospital for Veterinary Technician positions.
• Veterinary experience is required for Veterinary Assistant positions.
• Valid Veterinary Technician Certification license is preferred.
