About The Position
The position involves assisting in all phases of shelter veterinary care, including creating and maintaining records associated with animal medical care, maintaining medical inventory of authorized animals, assisting with daily shelter operations, and performing other duties as assigned or required. The role requires preparation of surgical equipment, acting as an assistant during surgical procedures, and monitoring animals during recovery. The technician will also be responsible for routine post-operative care, administering medications, and collecting laboratory specimens for testing. Additionally, the technician will perform hygiene-related duties, assist in euthanasia, and respond to public inquiries regarding shelter programs and policies.
