The Veterinary Technician at All 4 Pets Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in the examination, diagnosis, and treatment of animals.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Perform routine procedures such as wound care, suture removal, and dental cleanings.
• Monitor animals during surgeries and provide post-operative care.
• Ensure proper restraint and handling of animals during exams and procedures.
• Administer and monitor anesthesia under the direction of veterinarians.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients.
• Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood, urine, and tissue.
• Perform routine diagnostic tests and prepare samples for laboratory analysis.
• Greet and communicate with clients in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Educate clients on preventative care and general animal health.
• Operate and maintain veterinary equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning correctly.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
• Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and treatment areas.
• Assist in inventory management and ensure medical supplies are stocked.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent in veterinary technology.
• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and common medical conditions.
• Proficiency in performing veterinary technical procedures such as blood draws and surgical assistance.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic imaging.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards animals and their owners.
• Physical stamina to handle animals of various sizes.
