Serenity Veterinary Hospital is seeking a dedicated veterinary technician to join their growing team. Responsibilities

• Perform various technical procedures under the direction of veterinarians, such as administering medications and vaccines as prescribed.
• Assist in surgery preparation, monitoring anesthesia, and post-operative care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure all documentation is complete.
• Proficiency in cleaning and polishing teeth; familiarity with dental x-rays.
• Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies and medications.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of experience as a veterinary technician.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in blood collection and IV catheter placement.
• Proficiency in presurgical, surgical, and post-surgical skills including intubation, monitoring, dental prophylaxis, and extubation.
• Understanding of animal physiology and husbandry and ability to convey pertinent information to pet owners.
• Experience with laboratory procedures in a veterinary setting.
• Skilled in handling dogs and cats safely and effectively.
• Ability to provide compassionate pet care.
