About the position

The Vice Chancellor and Chief Operating Officer (VC-COO) at the Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) in New York City is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the institution's business functions, including human resources, finance, facilities management, informational technology, and legal affairs.   • Manage the operating budget of $38 million and a $150 million endowment.
  • Work with the board of trustees and internal and external constituencies to ensure transparent and compliant processes.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, CPA).
  • Proven experience in senior leadership roles focused on operational and financial management.
  • Strong financial, strategic, operational, and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Experience working with a chief executive officer and board of trustees.
