About the position

The Vice Chancellor for Parent and Family Development at Pepperdine University is a strategic fundraising leadership role focused on enhancing financial support from parents and families. This position is integral to achieving the university's mission by building relationships with major and principal gift donors, primarily those capable of contributing between $25K to $5M. The Vice Chancellor will lead initiatives to engage the parent community, cultivate donor relationships, and manage involvement from various stakeholders in the fundraising process.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of major and principal gift donors and prospects with a focus on those with a capacity to give $25K to $5M annually.
• Lead the implementation of Pepperdine's new parent philanthropy program to engage parent and family donors.
• Maximize engagement and philanthropy of Pepperdine's parent community through the development of the Parent and Family Council and volunteer opportunities.
• Partner with Advancement's Planned Giving Office and the Research, Grants and Foundation Relations team to identify, solicit, and steward planned gifts and grants.
• Collaborate with senior leadership and central staff to create a core of university-wide parent prospects for major gifts supporting university-wide priorities.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree.
• 7+ years of professional experience in fundraising, sales, or a related profession.
• Preference for 10+ years of success in fundraising at a major and/or principal gift level in higher education or another nonprofit environment.

• Experience working with parents and boards in a fundraising capacity.
