About the position

Capitol Technology University, the only independent university in Maryland dedicated to engineering, computer science, information technology and management of technology, invites applications, expressions of interest and nominations of candidates in its search for the next Vice President, Academic Affairs. Reporting to the President, the Vice President, Academic Affairs (VPAA) is responsible for all academic programs, providing leadership to faculty and academic staff to ensure consistent quality standards in curriculum and programs that meet the needs of students. The VPAA oversees the academic integrity of the University and provides leadership in long-range planning, budgeting, curriculum, and program development. The VPAA ensures compliance with various accreditation agencies as well as state accreditation and regulation. In addition, the VPAA is part of the University Executive Council. This position is on campus in Laurel, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all academic programs at the university.
  • Provide leadership to faculty and academic staff to ensure quality standards in curriculum and programs.
  • Oversee the academic integrity of the university.
  • Lead long-range planning, budgeting, curriculum, and program development.
  • Ensure compliance with accreditation agencies and state regulations.
  • Participate in the University Executive Council.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in academic affairs or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and academic program management.
  • Experience with accreditation processes and compliance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a higher education setting.
  • Familiarity with engineering, computer science, and information technology disciplines.
