About the position

The Vice President and Head of FI Growth at Mastercard is a high-profile, customer-facing role focused on building relationships with financial institutions (FIs) and fintechs to drive the adoption of innovative payment solutions, particularly in the realm of digital assets and blockchain technology. This position involves understanding Mastercard's product offerings, developing strategic partnerships, and leading customer proposals and deal execution to enhance the capabilities of FIs in the digital payments landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Mastercard's products and capabilities in the digital assets space, including Multi-token Network and Crypto Credential.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of financial institutions and develop relationships with key buying centers within these organizations.
  • Understand key financial institutions' strategies and assist them in developing a roadmap and business case for implementing Mastercard's products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as FI account management and product management to present a unified approach to customers.
  • Lead customer proposals, including crafting compelling RFP responses and managing deal execution, negotiations, and legal contracting.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of selling payment solutions or related services to financial institutions, particularly in transaction banking or corporate/commercial banking.
  • Experience or knowledge of the digital assets space and recent developments in the institutional sector.
  • Strong leadership and executive communication skills to mobilize and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders in matrixed organizations and navigate hurdles effectively.
  • Passion for understanding products and solutions, with the ability to articulate them clearly to senior business audiences.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to navigate large organizations.
  • Established industry relationships to leverage for business development.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the payments industry, including KYC, AML, and data protection laws.
  • Ability to navigate compliance considerations in partnership agreements and implementations.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, technology, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
