About the position

The Vice President and Head of FI Growth role at Mastercard focuses on collaborating with leading financial institutions and fintechs to advance payment solutions utilizing digital assets and blockchain technology. This high-profile position involves building relationships with key stakeholders in financial institutions, understanding their strategies, and guiding them in implementing Mastercard's innovative products and services. The role requires a deep understanding of the digital assets landscape and the ability to lead customer proposals and deal execution effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of Mastercard's products and capabilities in the digital assets space, including Multi-token Network and Crypto Credential.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of financial institutions (FIs) and develop relationships with key buying centers within these organizations.
  • Understand key FIs' strategies and assist them in developing a roadmap and business case for implementing Mastercard's products and services.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as FI account management and product management to present a unified front to customers.
  • Lead customer proposals, including crafting compelling RFP responses and managing deal execution, in collaboration with finance, legal, product, engineering, and regional teams.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of selling payment solutions or related services to financial institutions, particularly in transaction banking or corporate/commercial banking.
  • Experience or knowledge of the digital assets space and recent developments, especially on the institutional side.
  • Strong leadership and executive communication skills to mobilize and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders in matrixed organizations and navigate hurdles effectively.
  • Passion for understanding products and solutions, with the ability to articulate them clearly to senior business audiences.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to navigate large organizations.
  • Ability to build relationships, preferably with existing industry connections.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the payments industry, including KYC, AML, and data protection laws across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to navigate compliance considerations in partnership agreements and implementations.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, technology, or related fields; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
