About the position

The ETF Change Team at BlackRock is seeking a Vice President to join their dynamic group focused on driving innovation and change within the Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) sector. The ETF Platform Innovation and Change (EPIC) team operates within the Technology & Operations division, where it plays a pivotal role in developing strategies and executing initiatives that align with the firm’s growth aspirations. This role is integral to the multi-year transformation of BlackRock's ETF platform, which aims to scale operations to support the next phase of growth in the ETF industry. As a Vice President in the ETF Change Team, you will leverage your diverse skill set, including business acumen, technical expertise, and project management capabilities, to lead strategic project workstreams. Your responsibilities will encompass requirements gathering, operating model design, and collaboration with various business functions to achieve organizational goals. Responsibilities

  • Lead virtual teams and partner with business leaders to drive ETF-specific strategic project workstreams, including complex client and technology mandates and commercial opportunities, to completion.
  • Plan and execute business process analysis, with the goal of identifying areas to improve inefficiencies, increase scale through use of technology, and mitigate operational risk.
  • Develop content knowledge and dive deep into any topic that comes our way.
  • Simplify complex topics and create innovative solutions for issues.
  • Use your creativity and initiative to develop high impact materials for communication and demonstrate thought-leadership to help with decision making.
  • Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships across multiple internal & external stakeholders to garner their trust and ability to influence.
  • Develop project plans with measurable goals along with ongoing status reporting.
  • Drive consensus, communicate plans and results to stakeholders and executive management.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in asset management or financial services
  • Prior experience working within the ETF Primary Market space or strong desire to learn
  • Familiarity with asset management middle and back-office functions
  • Experience in business analysis, design, and implementation
  • Basic knowledge of standard project management methodologies
  • Confidence that you will flourish on a fast-paced and high-profile multi-year project
  • Prior experience on large cross-functional projects and working with global, distributed teams across multiple cultures and time zones
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity; a creative problem solver who sees what's coming next, removes dependencies, and stays passionate about delivering substantial results
  • Technical capability; understanding technology in a business context
  • A reputation as an excellent written, visual and verbal communicator with the ability to distill sophisticated concepts and information
  • Ability to keep your commitments, and proactively manage expectations when you can't
  • Ability to prioritize, excellent attention to detail and a strong work ethic
  • Strong in MS Office skills - PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • BS/BA or higher
