About the position

The VP/CFO is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all financial operations across the corporate structure. This position entails maintaining comprehensive financial accountability, managing assets, payroll, corporate annuities, payouts, contributions, and funding from various private and public organizations. The VP/CFO will control all ledgers, books, accounting classification codes, and nonprofit subsidies through grant proposals and contracts. Reporting directly to the Chairman, CEO & Founder, the VP/CFO will collaborate closely with the Executive Vice President and other Vice Presidents to provide insight and evaluative assessments as needed. This role is the fourth ranking position in the organization and is expected to deliver expertise and quality control over all corporate funds related to program areas established throughout the continental United States and internationally. In addition to overseeing the financial operations, the VP/CFO will manage an entire division that includes the Director of Finance & Budget, Managers, Assistant Directors, and all staff within the finance division and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO). The VP/CFO will oversee all regional headquarters financing departments from the World Headquarters office, setting standards related to corporate policies and procedures across the country. Clear, concise written and oral communication is essential for providing guidance and leadership, ensuring alignment with the corporate direction set forth by the Chairman/CEO. The VP/CFO will be responsible for ascertaining all financial reports and producing monthly, quarterly, and annual breakdowns to facilitate the current progress of corporate finances, ensuring compliance with established standards within the larger corporate structure. The role requires strong leadership in developing and continuously evaluating short and long-term strategic financial objectives. The VP/CFO will ensure the credibility of the Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts. This position will take a hands-on lead in developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive job cost system, directing and overseeing all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization. The VP/CFO will evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory actions, while establishing and maintaining strong relationships with senior executives to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions. Additionally, the VP/CFO will provide executive management with advice on the financial implications of business activities, manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation, and reporting to the company, and provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities. Ensuring effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting is also a critical responsibility.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 8-10 years experience with accounting and finance background.
  • BA requested, MBA/CPA desired with senior management experience.
  • Seasoned track record with nonprofit and for-profit organizations.
  • Ability to multitask is a plus.
