About the position

The Vice President in Investment Banking Credit at TD Securities plays a crucial role in leading corporate and leveraged banking transactions. This position involves working closely with clients and various internal teams to execute transactions, mentor junior professionals, and develop strong relationships within the financial community. The role requires a blend of leadership, analytical skills, and industry knowledge to navigate complex financing structures and ensure successful deal execution.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate leadership in due diligence and structuring around complex bank financings.
• Interact and negotiate with senior finance professionals at clients' businesses.
• Oversee the research and analysis of clients' financial performance.
• Continue to build on and enhance detailed knowledge of trends in the industry group.
• Construct detailed models that establish suitable capital structures and financial covenants.
• Work closely with Investment Banking and other product groups to develop and capture cross-sell opportunities.
• Prepare and recommend high-quality credit submissions, leading a group of specialists or operating as an individual contributor.
• Participate on project working groups and/or internal and external committees within a major risk category.
• Compile reports on overall business trends, risks, losses, and issues on an aggregated basis and recommend management action to minimize risk exposures.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of relevant credit and industry experience with strong financial/analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Well-organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and establish priorities with minimal supervision.
• Proactive, highly motivated, and a team player.
