About the position

The Vice President of CRO Sales at Medidata is a transformational sales leader responsible for achieving revenue objectives by establishing strategic relationships with Contract Research Organizations (CROs). This role involves driving the growth of Medidata's business portfolio through effective sales strategies and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. The VP will lead a high-performance sales team, focusing on lead generation, qualification, and closing business deals while ensuring alignment with company principles and ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership of a team of Sales across the US and EMEA to drive bookings and revenue within the assigned territory
  • Hire, coach, and develop direct reports
  • Grow footprint across existing customers
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for specific opportunities and accounts
  • Identify new opportunities at existing customers and prospects to build pipeline
  • Interact with executive level management and coordinate cross-functionally on sales initiatives
  • Consistent attainment of all quota targets
  • Represent Medidata/3DS in alignment with company business principles and ethics
  • Coordinate resources within sales and other departments to achieve objectives
  • Maintain and update account and opportunity data within company systems, including Salesforce.com
  • Accurately forecast team performance each quarter
  • Provide customer and industry input into the sales organization to drive strategy and product development priorities

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of the life sciences industry, including R&D, Clinical, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT functions
  • Demonstrated track record of being a trusted advisor to customers
  • Ability to leverage a consultative approach to drive positive outcomes for clients
  • Proven track record in exceeding sales targets
  • Ability to gain executive credibility and understand organizational dynamics
  • Ability to coordinate across internal cross-functional teams to improve sales outcomes
  • Demonstrated tenacity and drive to achieve goals
  • Strong business planning and organizational skills
  • Strong application software experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success with process-oriented selling
  • Minimum of 10 years of successful relevant experience
