About the position

The Vice President, Data & Analytics Architecture at Thomson Reuters is a senior leadership role responsible for evolving and transforming the company's data architecture strategy and implementation. This position involves creating and communicating data policies, overseeing the design and governance of data infrastructure, and ensuring that data solutions are scalable and secure. The role requires collaboration with executives to drive innovation and deliver value through data-driven decision-making, while also mentoring a team of data architects and promoting best practices in data management.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and evolve an enterprise-wide Data Architecture including patterns, standards, and guidelines.
  • Build and lead a team of data architects to design and build robust, scalable, and efficient data systems.
  • Provide thought leadership on data architecture trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, and business stakeholders to integrate data architecture into broader tech and business initiatives.
  • Drive the adoption of new technologies and data management practices that enhance data capabilities.
  • Communicate the data architecture to all levels of the organization, including senior executives and board members.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related field, with at least 8 years in a leadership role.
  • Robust analytical skills with the ability to synthesize business requirements with technology capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including cultural and language awareness.
  • Hands-on experience creating and evolving an enterprise data architecture.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale modern cloud-native architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud database design, data modeling, and data warehousing principles.
  • Experience with distributed systems patterns including data caching and event-driven processing.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies, machine learning, and analytics platforms.
