About the position

The Vice President, Design Creative Director is a key leadership role within the Marketing team at NYCEDC, responsible for overseeing the organization's brand and design initiatives. This position involves collaborating with various departments to develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns that promote NYCEDC's mission of fostering a vibrant and inclusive economy. The role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of designers and ensure high-quality creative output across multiple media channels.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the SVP, Marketing to evolve the NYCEDC brand and sub-brand architecture.
  • Partner with the External Affairs division to establish content strategy and design for marketing efforts.
  • Oversee integrated campaign development, brand and project design, and digital/print advertising.
  • Create corporate templates and presentations to support executive communications.
  • Manage and maintain the quality of design execution by overseeing two professional designers.
  • Identify new opportunities and resources to enhance creative products across media channels.
  • Collaborate with other Marketing leads to incorporate marketing principles into communications.
  • Support the development of a 'Team Marketing' culture of growth and accountability.
  • Hire, manage, train, and motivate creative staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Design/Graphic Communications.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in creative design team leadership positions.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in creating integrated marketing campaigns across various media.
  • Experience with content management systems.
  • Ability to manage high-profile projects with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Experience in coaching and training designers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in digital/integrated media marketing.
  • Familiarity with social media management.
