About the position

The Vice President/Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and managing a team of finance professionals. This role involves strategic financial planning, budget management, and financial reporting, with a focus on municipal bond structuring and compliance with governmental accounting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and control the organization's finance function.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report financial statements.
  • Oversee operations and capital budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with grants.
  • Manage capital assets and municipal bond structuring and issuance.
  • Handle cash and investment management.
  • Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Government Accounting Standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in managing and controlling an organization's finance function.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience in accounting for at least 1 year.
