The Vice President of Engineering for the Heating and Air Conditioning Division at Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc. will play a pivotal role in providing strategic and operational leadership for the Solutions Development Center (SDC). This position is responsible for coordinating the creation, development, design, and enhancement of the company's products and services, ensuring alignment with established goals and objectives. The VP will lead long-term planning efforts concerning budget, headcount, and capital resources to meet development needs effectively. This role requires managing the organizational structure to ensure that teams across product development, product design, testing, quality assurance, residential solutions, commercial solutions, and advanced technologies work cohesively to achieve departmental goals. Key responsibilities include guiding and leading the engineering department to enhance the efficiency of the design and development process, establishing a seamless new product development process, and maintaining an organizational structure that fosters technical, managerial, and leadership development. The VP will collaborate closely with executive leadership, product planning, sales, and marketing functions at Mitsubishi Electric Trane US, Inc. (METUS), Mitsubishi Electric Sales Canada Inc. (MESCA), and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO). Additionally, the VP will oversee the creation, development, and execution of the organization's development strategy, manage the product development process, and establish relationships with strategic partners to supplement SDC resources and jointly develop new offerings. The role also involves working closely with METUS, MESCA, and factories/design centers in Japan, Europe, and Mexico to ensure that SDC-developed products meet market needs and are suitable for manufacturing. The VP will collaborate with the procurement team on sourcing strategies and key vendor agreements, and coordinate activities with government affairs to ensure proper certification of products. The position requires oversight of refrigerant and mechanical development, focusing on achieving business and marketing objectives for the North American market. The VP will establish priorities for teams, monitor performance, and ensure that goals are met while managing the operating budget and headcount plan for the department. Furthermore, the VP will develop strategies for improving organizational efficiency and enhance the effectiveness of managers through training and mentorship.
