About The Position
Wells Fargo Rail is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead a team of engineers which are responsible for the reliability and availability of a fleet of approximately 130,000 railcars. In this role, you will lead, develop, mentor, and hire new talent for the Wells Fargo Rail Engineering team. You will collaborate and work across the organization to provide technical guidance for the purpose of facilitating asset leases and provide a world class customer experience. Additionally, you will ensure regulatory compliance for all activities associated with fleet acquisitions, inspections, and maintenance. You will participate in rail industry committees and trade organizations, as needed, to stay current with potential regulatory changes, technical advancements, and/or disruptive activities that could influence the Wells Fargo Rail fleet. You will identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement and risk control development, establish performance standards, evaluate performance, train and mentor the team, develop and assist in developing policies and procedures, and make decisions and resolve issues regarding objectives and operations of the fleet assets in Rail Operations area to meet business objectives. You will also interpret and develop policies and procedures for functions with low to moderate complexity within the scope of responsibility and lead the team to achieve objectives.
