About the position

The Vice President, Engineering at Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is a pivotal leadership role dedicated to steering progressive engineering practices and fostering innovation within the manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forward-thinking engineering strategies that align with the company's goals and respond to market demands, emphasizing automation and advanced technological solutions.
  • Lead and manage the engineering team to drive innovation and the development of high-quality engineering solutions, prioritizing the integration of cutting-edge technologies and automation practices.
  • Ensure all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes conform to the organization's established policies and objectives while advancing technological boundaries within the industry.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate progressive engineering solutions with business development and customer service initiatives, enhancing operational efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage budgeting and resource allocation among engineering projects, ensuring optimal investment in automation technologies and innovative practices.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and technological advancement, encouraging the team to embrace and pioneer new engineering methods and tools.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with professional and regulatory organizations, vendors, and contractors, focusing on partnerships that enhance technological capabilities and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, particularly in the implementation and operation of new technologies and automated systems.
  • Mentor and develop the engineering team, setting clear performance expectations and providing feedback and coaching, focusing on building skills in AI, automation, and other emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Advanced Degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in a related field is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in senior engineering roles, demonstrating progressive responsibility, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven success in leading diverse engineering teams, focusing on fostering innovation and implementing cutting-edge engineering solutions.
  • Strong technical knowledge in modern manufacturing technologies and processes, including automation, robotics, and Artificial Systems Intelligence (ASI).
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing complex engineering projects from concept through completion, incorporating advanced technologies and efficiency practices.
  • Proficiency in site selection, facility planning, and expansion projects, focusing on integrating automated systems and sustainable practices.
  • Solid experience in overseeing the construction of technologically advanced facilities, from planning and design to procurement and construction management.
  • Experience in evaluating and integrating engineering operations during mergers and acquisitions, focusing on technological alignment and operational synergy.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities for driving technological adoption and process improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with and influencing stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • A strong track record of initiating and leading change and continuous improvement efforts, particularly related to the adoption of new technologies.
