About the position

The Vice President, Enterprise Strategy will be instrumental in shaping Kaiser Permanente's overall enterprise strategy and growth initiatives. This role involves collaborating with national and market leadership teams to develop and implement strategies that drive growth, diversification, and performance improvement across the organization. The VP will lead significant projects with substantial revenue impact and will be a key member of the leadership team within Enterprise Strategy and Business Development (ESBD).

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies in support of the KP enterprise and specific organizations within the enterprise.
  • Establish and refine methodologies for strategy development, including identifying business problems and developing strategy roadmaps.
  • Lead the development of strategic criteria for transactions and support the execution of these transactions.
  • Identify merger and acquisition opportunities and assess strategic alternatives.
  • Deliver actionable business intelligence to inform strategic decisions.
  • Identify and cultivate new business relationships that support growth objectives.
  • Build compelling business cases and create executive presentations for strategic opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and sustain a network of external peers and industry experts.
  • Develop and deliver plans to gain support and approval from executive leadership and the KP Board of Directors.
  • Establish and refine methodologies for ideation and execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure appropriate engagement of internal and external parties in all activities.
  • Mentor and develop team members to build a strong strategic capability within the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum twelve (12) years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated success in building and executing a wide range of enterprise strategies.
  • Proven ability to build and develop high-performing teams.
  • Experience in managing complex organizational initiatives with multiple internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to navigate and work through influence to achieve high impact outcomes.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least five (5) years of experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Experience within a matrixed organization is preferred.
  • Success in supporting M&A transactions, strategic investments, and/or partnerships within healthcare delivery preferred.
