About the position

As the Vice President, Equity Indexing Portfolio Manager at BNY Mellon, you will play a pivotal role in managing assets independently within established investment policy guidelines to achieve specific investment objectives. This position is integral to the Equity Index Portfolio Management team, where you will implement investment strategies that align with client financial goals and risk tolerance, ensuring compliance with investment policies, philosophies, procedures, and applicable regulations. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with research and strategy team members, as well as other portfolio teams, to develop and execute effective investment strategies. In this role, you will also engage directly with clients and potential business prospects, communicating investment strategies, discussing market performance, and analyzing current market conditions. You will be responsible for independently implementing investment strategies for more complex funds, evaluating the performance of investments, and making timely adjustments to portfolios to meet investment objectives or allocation guidelines. Additionally, you will analyze and determine the appropriate level of risk for clients based on their time preferences, expectations, and prevailing market conditions. Your contributions will be vital to the profitability of the team and firm, as you will help retain and expand existing client relationships through superior investment performance and exceptional client service. This position is based in Pittsburgh, PA, and offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for flexibility in your work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing assets independently within investment policy guidelines to achieve investment objectives.
  • Implementing investment strategies consistent with client financial goals and risk tolerance.
  • Collaborating with research and strategy team members and other portfolio teams.
  • Meeting with clients and new business prospects to communicate investment strategy and discuss market performance.
  • Independently implementing investment strategies for complex funds/strategies.
  • Evaluating the performance of investments and making timely changes to portfolios.
  • Analyzing and determining client's appropriate level of risk based on preferences and market conditions.
  • Contributing to team profitability by assuring retention and expansion of existing client relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of total work experience preferred, with 5 years or more of investment experience preferred for MBAs or CFAs.
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
