About the position

The Vice President of Financial Institutions at the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) will lead the Office of Small Business & Financial Services (OSBFS). This senior leadership role involves managing direct loans and loan guarantees to financial intermediaries that support micro, small, and medium businesses in emerging markets. The position requires strategic oversight of financing activities and collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance DFC's impact in the sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Office of Small Business and Financial Services (OSBFS) at DFC.
• Participate in the Agency's overall strategy development and execution of priorities.
• Build DFC's reputation and increase stakeholder awareness in the assigned sector.
• Develop and maintain institutional expertise and key relationships with financial institutions and partners.
• Provide strategic and operational direction for financing activities throughout the investment lifecycle.
• Prioritize investment opportunities based on OSBFS strategy and project feasibility.
• Distribute sector targets across investment staff based on capabilities and experience.
• Ensure departmental adherence to DFC policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience at or above the GS-15 grade level.
• Experience providing effective senior leadership and supervision to investment professionals.
• Experience leading the provision of debt, guarantees, or other financial products to financial institutions in emerging markets.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in international finance institutions.
• Knowledge of micro, small, and medium business financing in emerging markets.
