About the position

The Vice President of Financial Reporting and Chief Accounting Officer at Trinity Health will provide executive leadership over the Record to Report (R2R) function, ensuring timely and accurate financial and management information is developed and disseminated. This role is responsible for driving system-wide standardization and implementation of financial reporting capabilities, advising senior leadership, and managing shared services. The position requires a strong understanding of healthcare finance and accounting principles, with a focus on improving performance across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership over the Record to Report (R2R) function.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and relevant financial and management information is developed and disseminated.
  • Drive system-wide standardization and implementation of financial reporting capabilities.
  • Monitor local operations and advise senior leadership teams.
  • Implement new system-wide programs to improve performance in financial reporting and accounting.
  • Develop and implement financial and managerial reporting best practices.
  • Establish uniform accounting policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP.
  • Lead the consolidation of Trinity Health financial statements and present analyses to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate annual external audit processes for the System.
  • Provide guidance for accounting treatment of mergers and acquisitions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of leadership experience in healthcare finance and accounting.
  • Strong accounting technical skills with CPA certification required.
  • Experience in audit firm background.
  • Strong analytical skills for complex issue resolution.
  • Ability to drive organizational change across a multi-billion organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Established executive presence for effective presentations to leadership.
