About the position

The Vice President, Financial Services is a member of the leadership team and is primarily responsible for shared service functions (transactional and process oriented) associated with billing, collections, payables, payroll, and administrative functions. The successful candidate will provide the strategic vision that helps the Finance and Accounting function embrace technology, build scalability into our processes, incorporate a continuous improvement mindset, and deliver timely and accurate processes that support our business. This leader will implement processes and procedures that are standardized, best practices, and assurance of consistent quality.

Responsibilities

  • Determine, develop and implement the Financial Services strategy, direction and vision for Lazer, aligned with the business objectives and priorities.
  • Oversee the delivery and performance of the function, ensuring high-quality, cost effective and customer-focused services.
  • Ownership of client master data, client setup, billing tables, various modes of invoicing to clients, client engagement and collection practices.
  • Standardize processes and implement controls that ensure completeness, timeliness and accuracy.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and clients to ensure timely billing and collections of accounts receivable.
  • Implement practice of issuing statements and dunning letters, standardize escalation practices and usage of third-party collection agency (as necessary).
  • Own the delinquency/DSO management and report on performance to senior management.
  • Ownership of vendor master data, vendor setup, invoice receipt/processing/workflow management and payment practices of procure to pay process.
  • Timely engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely processing of invoices, DPO management, dispute management, issuance of 1099s and report on performance to senior management.
  • Ownership of payroll policies and processes. Collaborate with HR and Legal functions (as applicable).
  • Adherence to State and Local payroll regulations and issuance of applicable filings, W-2s and other requirements.
  • Collaboration with accounting to assist with trends, analysis and month-end close.
  • Collaboration with treasury to analyze trends and project cash flows.
  • Expand the function to capture additional administrative functions (as applicable).
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in the function's processes, systems, and technologies, leveraging best practices and industry standards, including RPA and AI.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders and stakeholders across the business, understanding their needs and expectations and ensuring alignment and collaboration.
  • Manage the Financial Services budget and resources, ensuring compliance with the financial policies and procedures.
  • Lead, coach and develop a diverse and high-performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business-related field of study.
  • 15 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting or related field, including extensive senior management level experience in a multi-disciplinary business.
  • Strong understanding of how to develop large back-office functions and processes that can support high growth business.
  • Demonstrable experience in leading and managing shared services function across multiple geographies and within disparate business areas.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality, cost effective, and customer focused service solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in processes, and systems with a strong understanding in accounting and finance, payroll, legal and procurement.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to drive change and innovation.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Outstanding leadership, coaching and people management skills with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop diverse and high performing teams.
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism.
