About the position

Stillman College is seeking a Vice President for Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic financial leadership and ensure the financial integrity of the institution. This role involves overseeing all financial management aspects, including budgeting, fiscal oversight, and compliance with regulations, while collaborating with senior leadership to support the College's mission and strategic priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the financial health of the College and provide strategic financial leadership to the President and Board of Trustees.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the College's mission and goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, procurement, and student accounts.
  • Lead the College's budgeting process, ensuring compliance and effective resource allocation.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to the President and Trustee Finance Committee.
  • Manage cash flow planning and oversee investments and asset management.
  • Supervise the College's business services, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and accrediting body regulations regarding financial records.
  • Enhance and implement financial systems and control processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business, accounting, or finance from an accredited institution.
  • Eight years of progressively responsible leadership experience in higher education finance or administration.
  • CPA certification preferred; terminal professional degree highly preferred.
  • Experience with budget preparation, reporting, and financial administration principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience in strategic planning and critical thinking.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a higher education setting with Ellucian Colleague or similar platform.
  • Demonstrated executive leadership and ability to engage staff in professional development.
