About the position

Trinity Christian College is a Christian liberal arts college committed to the holistic development of students, integrating academic excellence with a strong sense of purpose and faith. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that prioritizes the wellbeing of our students in every aspect of their lives-spiritually, academically, emotionally, financially, and professionally. We seek an innovative and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. This dynamic role will drive the financial sustainability of the college while championing forward-thinking solutions that challenge the traditional reliance on student loan debt and support our mission to create new economic models for education. Trinity has become a national leader in implementing innovative economic models that resist the presumption that debt should be the means by which students access education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership in the areas of budgeting, forecasting, investment, and resource allocation.
  • Oversee accounting, financial reporting, and risk management to ensure the college remains financially sound.
  • Train and communicate with budget managers on campus.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies that reduce the college's dependence on student loan debt.
  • Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and community partners to design creative solutions for accessible education.
  • Ensure financial models support the college's emphasis on holistic student wellbeing.
  • Explore and implement alternative funding sources, scholarships, and financial aid models.
  • Support economic modeling that drives partnerships with local employers and community organizations.
  • Serve as a key member of the college's executive leadership team.
  • Clearly communicate the financial status of the college to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold the college's Christian values in all financial decision-making processes.
  • Supervise the Business Office and its leaders, along with other campus administrative areas.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial leadership role, preferably in higher education or non-profit sectors.
  • A deep commitment to the values of Christian education and the holistic development of students.
  • Strong knowledge of innovative economic models, including alternative financing solutions for higher education.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day financial operations effectively.
  • A master's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred; a CPA or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Benefits

  • Work in a supportive, mission-driven environment focused on creating long-term, sustainable solutions for the future of higher education.
  • Contribute to the transformation of higher education by developing innovative financial models that address student debt and support student wellbeing.
  • Be part of a vibrant Christian community that values faith, service, and excellence in education.
  • Opportunity to shape and direct the financial future of a forward-thinking institution.
