About the position

The Vice President of Fund Accounting at Blackstone Credit Registered Funds is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day fund accounting, administration, and reporting of various registered funds and separately managed accounts. This role involves collaboration with internal and external teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with SEC regulations, and effective management of fund operations. The Vice President will also mentor junior staff and drive initiatives to improve processes and reporting accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day fund accounting, administration, and reporting of registered closed-end funds and interval funds.
  • Work with internal and external teams to strike NAVs and validate corporate level activity.
  • Ensure accurate production of annual/semi-annual reports and SEC filings for Registered Investment Companies.
  • Manage all required fund regulatory reporting and disclosures in SEC filings.
  • Coordinate with external administrators, transfer agents, and auditors for year-end audits and SOX compliance.
  • Collaborate on producing materials for Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Approve expense allocations and monitor budgeted versus actual expenses.
  • Review financial information for investor letters and internal reporting.
  • Manage and review quarterly reporting deliverables to Blackstone.
  • Prepare accounting policy memos for new transactions and analyze new accounting standards.
  • Coordinate with technology teams to improve automation of manual processes.
  • Communicate clear direction and vision to team members.
  • Generate and execute creative solutions to challenges and new initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • BS (or above) in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA license is required.
  • 10+ years of public/private accounting experience.
  • Experience with SEC reporting for Registered Investment Companies is required.
  • Experience with daily NAV striking funds and/or credit industry is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-based environment.
  • Highly organized and proactive with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong work ethic and time management skills.
