About the position

As the Vice President of Global Field Marketing at Slack, you will play a pivotal role in driving new business growth through our managed Slack customers. This position requires a close partnership with Slack's Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and involves being the most accountable senior leader for demand generation and pipeline development through innovative global marketing strategies and execution. You will lead a team of global marketers who are responsible for executing region-specific strategies and investment plans across Slack's markets worldwide. Your role will also involve being a trusted advisor and partner with Sales and Product Marketing, as well as collaborating with the global Salesforce field marketing organization. The focus will be on developing an advanced content marketing and campaign strategy that resonates with our customers, particularly in target industries and lines of business, ensuring measurable impact. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in formulating and executing integrated pipeline generation and maturation campaigns. You will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer of Slack, and your responsibilities will include partnering closely with Sales leadership teams across each region to build and evolve marketing plans that align with pipeline needs. You will define messaging for our target industries, create comprehensive marketing materials, and collaborate with Product Marketing to develop messaging and positioning for Slack's products and solutions. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing region-specific content plans and executing customer-driven marketing strategies to increase demand and positively impact Slack's brand equity. Regular reporting on market and industry trends will be essential, along with conducting market research and advising stakeholders on sales and marketing strategies. A key aspect of your role will be to hire, coach, and motivate a dynamic organization of Marketing leaders and individual contributors, empowering them to meet and exceed KPIs.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Sales leadership teams across each region to build and evolve marketing plans that align with pipeline needs.
  • Define messaging for our target industries, including the creation of comprehensive marketing materials for each focus industry.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Marketing to develop Line of Business messaging and positioning of Slack's products and solutions.
  • Develop region-specific content plans.
  • Work closely with teams across Marketing and the rest of Slack in formulating and executing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and execute customer-driven, locally oriented marketing strategies and programs to increase customer demand, sales, and positively impact Slack's brand equity.
  • Produce regular reports on market and industry trends for the management team.
  • Direct day-to-day market research and competitive analysis projects.
  • Conduct primary and secondary market research and advise country stakeholders on sales and marketing strategies.
  • Hire and coach top talent. Recruit, train, and motivate a dynamic organization of Marketing leaders and individual contributors, empowering them with the consultative sales skills to meet and exceed our KPIs.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of Marketing leadership experience with a focus on partnering with localized Sales teams to drive pipeline.
  • Experience working for an enterprise cloud software company.
  • Proven ability to articulate value propositions differently according to industry and customer needs.
  • Track record of designing and executing high-performing, integrated marketing campaigns that drive pipeline growth.
  • Excellent verbal, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience building a high-performance-oriented team culture.
