About the position

The Vice President, Global Strategic Account Development- Consumer is a pivotal role within the Sales team at Kuehne+Nagel, responsible for leading a team to achieve and exceed sales targets while personally engaging with key customers. This position focuses on building and maintaining strong client relationships, coaching team members, and executing strategies to drive growth and performance across various products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate industry trends effectively to keep the team informed and aligned.
  • Identify and pursue growth opportunities, potential clients, and innovative solutions within the industry.
  • Execute the corporate industry strategy by delivering tailored supply chain solutions that meet industry requirements.
  • Lead and coach the Key Account Management team to drive growth and development of vertical and key accounts.
  • Foster a culture of success and high performance through leadership, guidance, and coaching.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the Account Management Team.
  • Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across verticals to enhance collective expertise.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis and networking to expand the client base and revenue streams.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing customized solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Monitor performance metrics, ensuring a robust pipeline and high closing ratio to meet targets and business plans.

Requirements

  • Master's or second degree in Logistics/Freight (BA & BS combination).
  • 5+ years of international experience.
  • 5+ years of direct and virtual leadership experience.
  • 5+ years in Business Unit/Functional Unit sales and industry roles.
  • Experience in forwarding, business management, client relationship management, business development, and profit & loss management.
  • Successfully executes cross-selling solutions and initiatives.
  • Establishes clear direction, team identity, and exemplifies desired behaviors and values.
  • Balances strategic thinking with hands-on business growth and develops collaborative relationships with key influencers.
