About the position

The Google Cloud Security Platform Engineer at Citi is responsible for designing, architecting, installing, and maintaining public cloud network infrastructure and services that support internet-facing applications. This role focuses on enhancing cloud security by certifying and operationalizing services to meet business timelines for migrating applications to the cloud. The engineer will evaluate existing security configurations, implement cloud-native security controls, and serve as a subject matter expert for compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing security configurations and provide actionable recommendations to maintain a highly secure cloud environment.
• Ensure all proposed solutions are enterprise ready, highly secure, automated, and scalable.
• Design and implement cloud native network security controls.
• Certify, integrate, and deploy new products and services for secure use at Citi.
• Serve as a technology subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders and provide direction for all firm mandated controls and compliance initiatives.
• Adapt quickly to changing threat landscapes and business requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a security engineer for Google Cloud.
• Expert level understanding of Google Cloud.
• Experience in DevOps and agile methodologies and automated solution delivery and testing through CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands on experience developing and engineering software solutions and services.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work in a cross-functional environment and partner with virtual teams.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of container security and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
