About the position

The Vice President, Head of Marketing at BioNTech is responsible for leading the marketing strategies for the company's oncology products and ensuring successful commercialization in the US biotech market. This role requires extensive knowledge of the regulatory landscape, reimbursement environment, and healthcare system dynamics, along with a deep understanding of the oncology market, particularly in targeted therapies. The position involves mentoring a team, developing comprehensive marketing strategies, and collaborating with cross-functional groups to drive market performance and customer behavior change.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies, including product positioning, messaging, segmentation, and channel strategy.
  • Prioritize, develop, and implement market development tactics to drive knowledge and awareness of unmet needs among customers.
  • Leverage understanding of oncology healthcare customers to inform the go-to-market approach.
  • Monitor and analyze market, customer, and competitor trends, incorporating insights into marketing plans.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional groups for the development and implementation of strategic and executional plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required with at least 15 years of progressive US experience in executive level marketing roles in a biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical company.
  • Successful history of developing and executing marketing strategy.
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills to communicate strategic vision to stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in building and developing high performing teams.
  • Thorough understanding of US regulatory requirements and compliance standards governing the marketing of biotech products.
  • Proficiency in leveraging market analytics and customer insights for strategic decision making.
  • Strong leadership with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence across the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA with Launch and customer-facing experience.
  • Experience with targeted oncology product experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a smaller, rapidly growing company.
