About the position

The Vice President of Information Management/Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a strategic leadership role at Lindenwood University, responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and optimization of the university's management of administrative and academic information. The CIO will drive innovations and standardizations to enhance information management, improve processes, and support actionable analytics, all while promoting student success and effective communication across the institution.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of information management strategies.
  • Promote data governance and an effective data culture across the institution.
  • Optimize institutional processes through collaborative mapping and automation.
  • Manage institutional information management projects and portfolios.
  • Provide enterprise architecture integrating various systems such as HR, Finance, and CRM.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through reliable metrics and analytics.
  • Ensure effective identity verification and access management for information security.
  • Promote effective management of academic information and support tools for faculty and student content creation.
  • Ensure effective use of learning management systems to promote student success.
  • Facilitate effective communications and partnerships across various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in an executive leadership role.
  • Master's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior IT role.
  • Higher education experience preferred.
  • Extensive experience in strategic planning and execution at the executive level.
  • Proven success in building high-performing teams and developing IT talent.
  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale IT projects and digital innovation initiatives.
  • Experience leading cybersecurity initiatives and compliance with relevant standards.
  • Experience in leveraging data analytics to drive organizational improvements.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with AI implementation in higher education preferred.
  • Certifications such as ITIL, COBIT, PMP, or CISSP are preferred.
