About the position

The Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness & Chief of Staff at Community College of Philadelphia plays a crucial role in overseeing institution-wide strategic planning and assessment to support the College's mission, vision, and goals. This position provides strategic leadership for assessment, accreditation, compliance, and institutional research, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and equity. The VP collaborates with senior leadership and the Board of Trustees to ensure the College meets its strategic goals and represents the President at various events. This role requires a collaborative approach to connect work streams and oversee strategic action plans, ensuring progress towards high-priority college-wide goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the ongoing development, implementation, assessment, and communication of the college's strategic goals and related outcomes.
  • Develop and implement research-based strategies and best practices for institutional effectiveness and excellence.
  • Provide leadership for Institutional Effectiveness, Institutional Research, and Assessment outcomes.
  • Direct the design, planning, and implementation of College-wide training and development programs for faculty and staff.
  • Serve as the Accreditation Liaison Officer for all matters related to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
  • Organize ongoing and new presidential initiatives and manage projects assigned by the president.
  • Serve on planning and policy-making committees as directed by the President.
  • Provide data analytics for briefings, presentations, and proposals for the President.
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels of management and staff.
  • Coordinate with all divisions to utilize data for maximizing student success.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in educational planning and assessment, data analytics, systems analysis, or a related field.
  • Knowledge and experience in models of continuous improvement for large complex institutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with high-level executives.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a high level of professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven success in leading complex projects.
  • Strong analytical, critical, and strategic thinking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctorate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible leadership positions within a higher education environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of emerging issues in higher education/community colleges preferred.
  • Deep understanding of urban education and diverse student populations preferred.
