About the position

Wells Fargo's CIB Fund Finance Group is seeking an Investment Banking Vice President to join its Charlotte or New York office. This role involves providing financing to private equity funds and asset managers through structured credit facilities. The Vice President will manage a portfolio of clients, engage in deal structuring, legal negotiation, credit analysis, and execution of subscription facilities, while also maintaining existing client relationships and ensuring compliance with deal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day job responsibilities for new deals including creating pitches/term sheets and preparing borrowing base calculations in Excel.
  • Lead due diligence meetings and act as the lead banker on driving internal underwriting and credit approval processes.
  • Write detailed credit memos and lead internal discussions with credit partners.
  • Work closely with internal and external counsel to negotiate legal documentation.
  • Understand client financing needs and provide tailored solutions including structuring transaction deal terms.
  • Maintain client relationships for existing deals, ensuring all deal requirements are met and addressing discrepancies.
  • Negotiate, structure, and execute amendments and other facility modifications for existing deals.
  • Support team members in collateral analysis and compliance tracking.
  • Monitor financial performance and internal credit ratings of borrowers and limited partners.
  • Conduct periodic client due diligence and annual reviews.
  • Contribute to portfolio analysis across the broader Fund Finance Group portfolio.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Investment Banking experience or equivalent work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or Engineering (or MBA).
  • Experience reading, negotiating, and interpreting legal documents.
  • Deal origination and credit underwriting experience.
  • Experience in structured finance or investment banking is preferred.
  • Direct client interaction experience, including leading relevant transaction elements and interacting with senior decision makers.
  • Leadership experience and/or experience training others in a relevant professional capacity.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with originating and monitoring subscription facilities, asset-backed finance, securitization, or other structured products.
  • Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with private equity funds and proficiency in Excel.

Nice-to-haves
