About the position

The Vice President / Manager, Fund Accounting will take a leadership role in managing the day-to-day operations of the Fund LP reporting group. This position involves working closely with the Controller to oversee and review processes, assess the impact of industry and regulatory changes, and help define and execute the group's strategic focus. The role also emphasizes the importance of utilizing current technology effectively and finding solutions that will allow the firm to operate efficiently in the future. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, managing third-party administrators, and coordinating the issuance of quarterly fund financial statements. Additionally, the role includes assisting with the year-end audit process and acting as a direct liaison with auditors to obtain clean audit opinions for each fund. The Vice President / Manager will also monitor and research changes in the industry regarding US GAAP reporting requirements and disclosures, ensuring compliance with these standards. In terms of accounting operations, the Vice President / Manager will coordinate the capital call and distribution process, manage credit facility drawdowns and repayments, and review calculations of quarterly management fees. The role requires assisting with investor correspondence and reviewing weekly cash activity, as well as participating in ad-hoc reporting and special projects within the finance team. Furthermore, the position involves fund legal operations and compliance, including assisting with annual and quarterly regulatory filings, coordinating reporting processes for Luxembourg and Cayman-based funds, and ensuring compliance with Limited Partnership Agreements and Side Letters. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Review transactional data throughout the quarter to ensure accuracy and leverage knowledge for quarterly financial statement packages.
  • Manage third-party administrator and coordinate the issuance of quarterly fund financial statements.
  • Review complicated financial reporting items including waterfall calculations.
  • Assist with the year-end audit process and liaise with auditors to obtain clean audit opinions for each fund.
  • Monitor and research changes in the industry regarding US GAAP reporting requirements and disclosures.
  • Coordinate capital call and distribution process, including calculations and review of investor notification packages.
  • Manage credit facility drawdowns, repayments, record-keeping, and relationships.
  • Review calculations of quarterly management fees and operating expenses.
  • Assist with investor correspondence and review weekly cash activity.
  • Assist with bank account opening and closing processes.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and special projects as needed within the finance team.
  • Assist with annual and quarterly regulatory filings.
  • Coordinate reporting and processes associated with Luxembourg and Cayman-based funds.
  • Review Limited Partnership Agreements and Side Letters for compliance with terms.
  • Assist with fund compliance reporting, including quarterly NAV calculations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferred.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Minimum of 6-8 years of professional experience, preferably in the private equity industry or Big 4 public accounting firms with exposure to the private equity industry.
  • Demonstrated success in managing direct reports.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of conscientiousness to work product.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Workday and Investran is a plus, but not required.
