About the position

The Vice President, Network Engineer (DMZ) role at BNY Mellon is a key position within the Technology Services Group, focusing on designing and implementing secure network access for both internal and external stakeholders. This role emphasizes the importance of security, resiliency, reliability, and scalability in network solutions, particularly in the context of financial services. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure that network solutions meet organizational goals and enhance client services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure access to and from BNY networks.
  • Ensure security, resiliency, reliability, and scalability of network solutions.
  • Manage public internet and private extranet connectivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
  • Create secure and resilient connections for internal and external consumers.
  • Develop business cases for new technology and products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Experience with end-to-end service design and understanding of packet flow through the network.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing external and DMZ network solutions.
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices, particularly within Cisco Nexus and Cisco ACI environments.
  • Cisco ACI experience required.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Routing: BGP / OSPF required.
  • Working knowledge of firewall, load balancing, and proxies required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cisco SDWAN experience is a plus.
  • Industry and vendor certifications are a plus.
  • Automation/DevOps experience is a plus.
