About the position

The Vice President of Banking (Commercial Lending) is a senior leadership role responsible for managing commercial lending operations and building relationships with business clients. This position plays a crucial role in achieving growth targets and mentoring a team of bankers while ensuring high standards of service and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Build and deepen relationships with new and existing commercial/business members with revenues greater than $1.5 million.
  • Achieve quarterly/annual production and growth goals of both business loans and deposits.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop Commercial and Business Relationship Bankers.
  • Maintain an advanced understanding of all business credit facilities including Commercial Real Estate, Construction & Development, and business lines of credit.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of commercial/business loans effectively.
  • Review businesses' financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation for loan requests.
  • Represent the bank in the community by participating in civic affairs and local organizations.
  • Meet and exceed credit union member service goals and production objectives.
  • Perform other essential job-related duties as assigned by Chief Business Services Officer or VP Business Banking Sales.

Requirements

  • 8 years lending experience in business or commercial credit.
  • 5 years of business services or business/commercial banking experience.
  • 3 years of branch sales experience or equivalent financial services sales experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Formal business/commercial credit training.
  • Advanced understanding of business/commercial credit, deposit, related products, and services.
  • Advanced understanding of business/personal financial statements and tax returns.
  • Advanced understanding of financial analysis including cash flow, profitability, liquidity, leverage, and solvency.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully structure complex credit requests.
